Sandstone Paving to create an outdoor barbecue area in Norton, County Durham.
Sandstone paving for a barbecue area and a water feature
Using sandstone flags to create our client’s beautiful patio area was a great idea. These particular sandstone flags have a slightly textured surface to them. Not only do they look amazing but they’re non-slip when wet too! The sandstone paving we have used can be bought in many different shades and colours. Our client chose shades of blue and grey. Sandstone paving is such an affordable, beautiful, natural stone product to use for patios and is always complemented very nicely with a cobbled edge as you can see in the photograph of the completed patio area.
Sealing your sandstone paving
Green Onion Landscaping sealed the patio at the end of the landscaping project. Sealing a patio protects the patio stones from moss, dirt, and fungi, it also makes cleaning them much easier too as the dirt collected lies on the surface of the sealant rather than penetrating the sandstone.
The sandstone patio area for the barbeque area is a long rectangular space with a curved blue brick edge. Blue brick perfectly enhances and complements the chosen sandstone flags. It encourages the patio colours to stand out.

“Hi Andy,
Our new patio area looks awesome. We’re very happy with your workmanship and the end result. We can’t believe this is our garden. We can’t wait to fire the barby up and eat out here. It’ll be great especially with the water feature going.
Please thank the Green Onion landscaping team on our behalf. It was a pleasure doing business with you, meeting and getting to know you and the lads.”
