Mr. & Mrs. Herman’s beautiful sandstone patio in Wynyard.
The original garden consisted of a very ordinary, dull, grey paving stone patio.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman decided during their landscaping consultation, that they would like Green Onion Landscaping to lay a new sandstone patio for them. We suggested they construct their new patio from, Desert sandstone. Sandstone is a natural product, it has the most beautiful colours within the flagstones. These particular flags are soft tones of yellow, mauve, and grey. They look beautiful when dry and when they wet.
Our landscape gardeners, Charlie and Andy carried out this landscaping project in Wynyard. They began by taking up and disposing of the old patio paving stones. Once the ground was bare, it was dug out and prepared ready for the hard-core. Once the hard-core was in, the team wacked the entire area so that it was compact and flat. This area was then ready to seat the new sandstone patio flags on.
Charlie and Andy then laid the new patio area on a wet cement mix in a random pattern. A random pattern was laid so that the patio has a more interesting, natural appearance. The patio was beautifully edged with Tegula paving cobbles. The cobbles frame the sandstone patio area and provide a contrast of textures and colours.

Green Onion Landscaping also constructed stepping-stones around the conservatory with a Tegula paving edge stone. The surrounding space around the stepping-stones was filled in with Monmouth Green gravel. This garden landscaping project in Wynyard is beautiful!
