This circular patio was constructed in Mowden, Darlington, Tees Valley. The paving stones used were ‘desert multi’ sandstone.
Mr. Minto wanted to break up the squareness of his old garden, he wanted a softer, natural looking place in the garden where he and his family could relax and enjoy the sunshine. Green Onion Landscaping suggested having a circular patio as a central focal point. The patio was laid in an area of Mr. Minto’s garden where the sun shines for the longest period of time. It is always important to think about where the sun is in your garden when designing and building patio areas after all you want it to be in the most ideal and useable location. Green Onion Landscaping always prefer to create beautiful gardens that have great form as well as being fully functional.
Surrounding the circular patio are Tegula blocks these form the sweeping garden borders, Curved borders always create much softer landscaped garden design. Green Onion Landscaping like to use sweeping borders and curves in their garden designs as they create a more natural shape in any garden landscape. Curves are always more pleasing to the eye.
Between the Tegula blocks and circular patio Green Onion Landscaping laid weed fabric, the team then spread purple slate over the fabric to finish off the job. The purple slate not only also helps to make the look of the garden more pleasing to the eye (adding colour) but it also adds a texture and helps keep moisture in the ground by draining away any excess water from both the rectangular patio and the circular patio.
Mr. Minto was delighted with his newly landscaped garden and patio area. It certainly looked very different from the garden we turned up to see when pricing the landscaping project. Another pleased customer!
